World Americanization

*
*
It would be good if what is bad about America was just in America and theirs only. But America belongs in essence to the world now, it is no longer just the country, it is the process. Americanization. It happens all over the planet, in perfect imitation or in its own form.
*
America sets itself up to be a world leader when at heart it is rotten. They have no good intentions first. What good they do is just to make an opening to slip in the bad as easy and as unnoticeable as possible. They even try to disguise their wars of greed for capitalism by calling it stopping the terrorist and saving the world. They peddle their image to the point where many across the world think it is the goal. It is frightening to see a nation of people narrowing their minds and lives down to a useable stroke and all the while thinking it is freedom.
*
America is at fault because it projects the image of success with the average citizen having so much available to him. It makes it look like their way is the good way, the way to get what you want. And people know what they want because they watch tv and ads and see all that there is, and its price. What is really a life of all fitting the one mold leaves them with no facility to see what they have lost. And what they have lost is so much, almost what it is to be human, an individual, instead of a number working for wages and living to support a government. They have possessions, and that can look good, lots of new shiny things, and they have positions, safe and secure and they are told this is success. Not realizing true success is within. America stifles creativity. All gets reduced down to the same boil, the same tune. And so, in order to have this success one looses all but the process.
*
It is the saddest thing to see the world turn the way of America. Greed, capitalism, fascism, militaristic, radically religious, many many bad labels. It is a way to enable the rich to get richer and poor stay poor. And to make every poor mans dream to be like the rich and all his goals to strive for that, or live in failure. The signs are easy to recognize, the turning to self, the disintegration of the family, learning as entertainment instead of thinking, lack of manners, changing the diet to unnatural food, idolizing the rich, living in debt and letting oneself to be so easily brainwashed. Among others.
*
A future where the world resembles America is like giving up on mankind. Living for what's next, instead of what is. Each little wedge of Americanism anywhere in the world is a defeat, a loss to society and man and his potential. Americanism is a world disease and spreading like a plague.

The fact that all of these things are so obvious to those who would look is a sign of an empire in decline. We can only hope that they do not drag the rest of us down with them.

Zatikia,
It disgusts me when Bush calls the USA "America" while religating citizens not directly related to the pilgrims some hyphenated sub class; Mexican-American, Irish-American, Afro-American.
It surprizes me when you or anyone not in the USA goes along with calling it America. During the Viet Nam war I designed a t-shirt that said, "US out of North America."
The US population is a only 34.47% of the people and the land mass is only 22.28% of the continents known a America — way too small to claim to represent the rest and, in consideration of its aggressive foreign policy, far too imperialistic!
The feeling expressed in your post are a much more subdued version of the feelings I have living in the US and witnessing the sheep echo the bullshit of the wolf in shepherds clothing. You've been to my blog, you know how I feel.

There is a problem gregrandgar . The people of that country north of us have no name they would prefer. As you state, it certainly isn't "American" for that could be any from a content 52 nations and territories. "North Americans" doesn't work either, There are 32 there including Canada and Mexico. Even some form of "United Statesers" won't suit because Mexico's full name in translation is The Republic of the United States of Mexico, and its people discovered Europeans first. From what I've observed, neither population would appreciate such close association. "Gringo" however seems a good choice, at least here in Mexico. It does tend to anger visiting Canadians, but, to tell the truth, I don't notice a whole lot of difference between those two at least as might be measured on a scale of expressed inate arrogance and that one seems to take pride on being much closer to a queen.

Gregrandgar, good to see you here. I agree, America is a disgusting name for a country that is only a part of it, and the worst part at that. I call it America because that is the name I have always heard it by. America America, the dream, the lie. Even the name is false, another con. Here in Mexico we call it El Otro Lado, the other side. That says it all.

And I am quite sure living there would make one feel much worse, than just viewing it from afar.

As I express on my blog, the most apt name I can think of for the new Rome based on the origin and character of most of the recent of the wannabe emperors is United Stetsons in America (the cowboy hat), just "the Stetsons" for short. This would not only clear America's better name but call it like it is, because it points more directly at recently more apparent government mentality and not so much at US people just as opposed as you being just as victimized as the rest of the world's citizens now being annexed into the "Oil Ranch."
Watch for events at ground zero in NYC 9/11/06 or go here for a thread to get a better idea of the backlash of the whitewash that may occur in the land of the stetsons.

Gregrandgar, Thank you for the link, I will watch the movie as soon as I can take in that much America at one time. It looks very interesting and on a subject that any truths on it would be revealing.

I like your name, United Stetsons, how fitting for that mentality.

Zatikia, I think much of what you are saying is true of El Otro Lado.

Woo Woo, it is always good to hear from other people that know these truths too.

Atanu,

I approve much of what you say, as it echoes what I have said. But I do not believe in killing as an answer, as the enemy, America, does. This is the mentality and the belief system I feel the world should move away from. We must have respect for each other.

Don´t try to out guess what history would have been had it been different. Fighting evil with evil leaves you with evil and you defeat your purpose. America needs to be shunned, squeezed out, ignored and let it do its own self in from within. What the Americans need is hard times, and then given time with that, they will see. Their make believe world crashed around them. We need to have respect for human life, but not for countries like America. Kill the country, not the people.

Bobby, those are typical American delusions. No matter what I write here, they will hold onto them. They are not the sort that respond to truth and add it to what they know and change with it.

I am in Mexico 26 years constantly. My experiences of America are old memories. It may be a good idea to write of these experiences, but I have no desire to do so. I was not brought up in typical American style so I have few comparisons to make with them. It is not like I really was ever one of them and changed over. But thank you for the idea, one needs to try to figure out how to get people to understand.
